Achieve Something Great An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Speech Pathology leader to step into a temporary Head of Department role within a small, supportive metro hospital. This maternity leave backfill offers the chance to lead a dedicated team, shape service delivery, and contribute to high-quality, patient-centred care across acute and outpatient settings. You will provide clinical and operational leadership, support workforce development, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams to drive service improvement and outcomes. Must hold a bachelor or post graduate degree in speech pathology which provides eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer Do you have a current Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2)? if you hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted Extensive clinical knowledge, experience and skills in managing adult patients with acquired communication and swallowing disorders including instrumental assessment Demonstrated high level communication skills (oral and written) including advocacy and negotiation skills Demonstrated knowledge and skills in service management functions including supervision of staff and management of team performance Demonstrated leadership in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process and Evidence Based Practice (EBP) If you’d like more details, we’re here to help.
