Role Description Arcadis is looking for Principal Road Designer to join our Queensland civil infrastructure business unit and be part of major infrastructure projects. The projects involve High Speed Motorways and Major Urban Arterials and could involve several design stages (i.e., Concept Design and Detailed Design). Role Accountabilities Manage, plan, resource and complete the assigned delivery of the Road Design component of projects within agreed budgets and deadlines. Identify, communicate and collaborate with the team to resolve technical road design issues. Lead a road design project team, including coaching and development of capabilities. Assist the Project Manager in determining the resources required for a project plan, including elements suitable for outsourcing. Ensure the production of project documents that are accurate, clear and concise and compliant with best practice and any other quality standards dictated by the nature of the project. Maintain ongoing communication with relevant Project Managers/Team Leaders and clients when required, to ensure effective communications on matters relevant to the project. Ensure compliance with Arcadis design standards and national design standards. Work in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design. You will come to us with: A suitable degree or qualification relevant to Civil Engineering. Proficiency in 12D (essential). Proficiency in Bentley MicroStation and OpenRoads (highly desirable). Significant years of experience in a project delivery environment with demonstrated participation in the delivery of major road infrastructure projects, particularly roads and highways design. Knowledge of Austroads Guide to Road Design (essential), and knowledge and experience in applying other state-based standards (desirable). Knowledge of local authority CADD standards and deliverables (e.g., QLD TMR, TfNSW, VICRoads).
