We are seeking a highly capable Part-Time Office Accountant (2-3 days per week) to take ownership of our core accounting, bookkeeping, and financial administration functions. This is a hands-on role for a detail-oriented professional who values accuracy, structure, and disciplined financial operations in a dynamic technology environment. Key Responsibilities Accounts & Bookkeeping (Primary Focus) Full responsibility for day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero, including accounts payable and receivable, invoice management, expenses, bank reconciliations, petty cash, and month-end closing support. Maintain accurate and up-to-date general ledger and supporting schedules. Manage invoicing, customer receipts, supplier payments, and cashflow tracking. Ensure timely and accurate processing of all financial transactions. Project & Cost Accounting Track project budgets versus actuals across multiple client and internal projects. Monitor cost allocations, revenue recognition, and work-in-progress where required. Support management with clean financial records and cost visibility across engagements. Payroll & Compliance Support Prepare payroll inputs and reconcile payroll-related accounts. Assist with BAS, GST, and ATO documentation in coordination with external accountants. Maintain audit-ready books and ensure compliance with Australian accounting and taxation requirements. Nice-to-have: experience with payroll preparation, BAS support, and Fair Work obligations. Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations, and variance summaries. Maintain structured financial filing, documentation, and compliance records. Support process improvements across internal financial systems and controls. Skills & Experience 3–6+ years of Australian experience in bookkeeping, accounts administration, or office accounting, ideally within a professional services or technology environment. Strong proficiency in Xero and spreadsheets (Google Sheets / Excel). Solid understanding of Australian GST, BAS, and general compliance requirements. High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational discipline. High integrity and confidentiality with financial and sensitive information.
