Employment type: 12-month non-ongoing contract with a 6-month extension option Background: Glic Recruitment is managing a search for a Director (EL2) within a Federal Government environment. This is a high-impact leadership role within an ICT and Data function, focused on delivering the next phase of an operating model transformation . The opportunity You will play a central role in the next phase of an operating model transformation program. Stage 1 has been completed, and the team is now moving into Stage 2, with a strong focus on: strengthening governance processes improving relationships with business areas and stakeholders supporting service catalogue and operational uplift embedding more proactive ways of working across ICT and Data balancing strategic reform and supporting day-to-day operational priorities This is not a deeply technical role. The successful candidate will instead bring strong leadership across strategy, operations, governance and stakeholder engagement, while working closely with technical teams, vendors and business leaders. Key responsibilities Drive operating model transformation activities within the ICT and Data function. Support governance, planning and coordination across strategic and operational priorities. Provide contingency and senior support in the operations space as needed. Manage day-to-day issues, problem management and competing priorities. Build productive relationships with business stakeholders, ICT vendors and internal technical teams. Oversee vendor performance and contribute to strategic contract management for outsourced ICT services. Support organisational change and help lift capability, alignment and service maturity across the function. About you Experience working in strategy and operations within ICT and/or data environments. Strong governance capability and the ability to bring structure to complex work. Proven experience managing multiple competing priorities in a fast paced setting. Strong vendor engagement and contract management capability, particularly in outsourced ICT environments. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work confidently across technical and non technical stakeholder groups. High attention to detail and strong personal organisation. Demonstrated experience leading or supporting change in complex organisations. The ability to work with minimal direction and add value from the outset.
