Overview We are looking for motivated and capable Emergency Services Officers to join the HSS team within Western Australia Iron Ore (WAIO). Reporting to the Security and Emergency Management Supervisor, this role is vital in ensuring that all emergency response activities are performed in a safe, timely and efficient way. Enthusiasm and commitment to all aspects of emergency response readiness and medical care is critical. You will work as part of a dynamic team, bringing an empathetic and adaptable approach to the immediate and long‑term safety and health of others, while driving and demonstrating behaviours that set positive examples within BHP and surrounding communities. Key Responsibilities Use your emergency response experience to proactively train and prepare the Emergency Response Team and provide direction during emergency response. Ongoing development of skills and qualifications is expected, maintaining fire and rescue competencies and scope of practice, and participating in and planning for training sessions, knowledge sharing and scenario‑based activities. Ensure compliance with BHP medical guidelines and drug protocols, actively engaging with colleagues, mentors, training resources and the Clinical Governance team. Rescue experience in firefighting, ambulance, defence forces or any emergency service is advantageous. Positions & Shifts Permanent and FTC positions across our mine sites in WAIO. Work an 8:6 / 7:7 day and night shift roster, fly in fly out (FIFO) from Perth. Qualifications & Requirements You will also have: Certificate IV in Health Care or equivalent / higher Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue or equivalent / higher Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing Minimum of Heavy Rigid (HR) class driver’s licence.
