Executive Director, Legal and Legislative Services Location: Adelaide CBD Classification: SAES2 Duration: Up to 3 years Vacancy Type: Full Time Closing Date: 11:30pm, Wednesday 17 June 2026 About the Opportunity The Executive Director, Legal and Legislative Services provides expert advice to the Chief Executive and the Attorney‑General and contributes to the corporate and strategic direction of the Attorney‑General’s Department (AGD) through membership of the Executive Management Group (EMG). The role ensures a strong and productive connection with legal services entities in AGD and contributes to the development and implementation of corporate policies and programmes to attain organisational goals and objectives. The Executive Director works collaboratively with all divisions within AGD and the broader justice sector to achieve legal and operational imperatives in justice reform initiatives. The Director oversees a high‑performing Legislative Services unit which provides specialist legal advice, develops and reviews proposals affecting legislation committed to the Attorney‑General. About the Business The Attorney‑General’s Department (AGD) promotes justice by protecting the rights of all South Australians, holding people to account according to the law, improving safety, and contributing to an efficient and fair justice system. Requirements and Expectations Employment is subject to a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Employment‑related screening check required.
