The Role ALS is seeking an experienced and professional Senior Metallurgist to join our metallurgical services business based in Balcatta, Perth, WA. This is a full-time permanent position working standard weekday hours. Reporting to the Principal Metallurgist, you will play a key leadership role in delivering high‑quality metallurgical testwork programs and providing expert technical guidance to clients and internal teams alike. This is not a FIFO mine site position. Responsibilities Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and interpretation of metallurgical testwork programs across a range of commodities and processing techniques. Provide technical leadership and mentoring to metallurgists, department supervisors, and technicians. Liaise directly with clients to understand project objectives, present results, and deliver high‑quality technical reports. Review and interpret testwork data, preparing detailed technical reports and recommendations. Support the development and improvement of testwork procedures, protocols, and methodologies. Assist in the planning and oversight of bench‑scale and, at times, pilot plant testwork programs. Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with health, safety, and quality standards. Maintain accurate records and uphold a high standard of data integrity throughout all projects. Essential Qualifications Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy, Minerals Engineering, or a related discipline. 5+ years of experience in metallurgical testwork, mineral processing, or a related field. Strong communication, organisational, and time management skills. Strong technical knowledge across one or more areas: gold recovery, comminution, flotation, hydrometallurgy, gravity separation, or solid‑liquid separation. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet client deadlines. Excellent technical report writing and data interpretation skills. Proven ability to lead, mentor, and develop team members. High attention to detail and a commitment to quality and safety. Proficiency in relevant data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel).
