At Life Without Barriers, we recognise the challenges refugees and asylum seekers face in rebuilding their lives in Australia. Through our National Immigration Support Service (NISS), we provide compassionate, culturally safe, and trauma-informed support to asylum seekers and refugees living in the Australian community. We walk alongside individuals and families on their journey, helping them navigate what can be complex and challenging systems and empowering them to reach their goals, one step at a time. About the Role Employment Type: Permanent Full Time (or part-time 4 days per week) Location: Mirrabooka & Leederville offices with flexible hybrid working arrangements (3 days in office 2 WFH) In this role you will provide clinical assessments, support & evidence-based therapy to asylum seekers and refugees. This includes; Delivering clinical expertise to support clients from refugee and asylum seeker backgrounds Assessing clients cognitive, emotional, behavioural and daily living capabilities through formal and informal assessments. Supporting clients through major life transitions with skill‑building and coping strategies through individual and group therapy Tracking client progress and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure ongoing, effective support & care. This position will also provide training and guidance to caseworkers and staff on therapeutic approaches and incident management. This role is key in helping clients within our program navigate life transitions, improve their mental health, and achieve their goals while waiting for visa decisions. Please note: you must be fully registered; we cannot provide supervision for provisionally registered Psychologists. Skills & Experience Tertiary qualifications in Psychology with full registration Clinical or forensic psychology experience, with a strong understanding of clinical governance frameworks. Experience with Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) and Diverse Backgrounds Skilled in collaborative work with multidisciplinary and external support agencies. Experienced in delivering flexible, client‑focused interventions, including outreach and e‑health. Ability to implement client and family‑centred approaches, with cultural sensitivity towards diverse communities. Successful candidates will be required to clear probity checks including National Criminal History Record Check and WA Working with Children Check.
