Role Overview The lecturer’s primary role is to teach, facilitate learning, assess and mentor students in accordance with relevant curriculum and/or training package requirements. Lecturers also undertake Professional Activities (PA) and Activities Related to Delivery (ARD). To maintain quality educational services, lecturers are required to stay abreast of technological and other developments in their field through professional development, providing up-to‑date information and advice to the College and industry where appropriate. Qualifications & Experience WA issued Electrical Workers Licence (essential) or an Electrical Contractors Licence (desirable). Minimum Certificate III in Electrotechnology (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of vocational or lecturing experience relevant to this position. Ability to facilitate and encourage learning. Minimum qualification required to deliver accredited vocational education and training (VET) is Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110) or a secondary teaching qualification with an Assessor Skill Set (TAESS00011, TAESS00019, or TAESS00024). Applicants who do not yet hold the minimum required VET credentials are eligible to apply; South Metropolitan TAFE will require successful candidates to be enrolled in, and commence training to, an approved training and assessment credential and record satisfactory progress to enable completion within two years from commencement. Other Conditions & Eligibility Eligibility for employment is subject to obtaining a satisfactory Department of Education criminal clearance. If the position involves contact with children, a Working with Children (WWC) Card is required. To be eligible for appointment, applicants must have a working visa (for fixed‑term contract appointments) or permanent residency (for permanent appointments).
