Overview A FIFO senior general practitioner is required to support an Aboriginal Health Service (AHS) on a regular basis. Locum positions are available prior to a permanent medical practitioner commencing, offering a chance to assess suitability for the permanent role. The AHS serves the Aboriginal community and the rest of the Wiluna Shire in the Goldfields‑Esperance region of Western Australia. Practice The AHS is based in a large modern clinic with facilities including emergency rooms, X‑ray, and ultrasound, fully computerised using Communicare software. The health team includes 5 nurses, a pharmacist, a paramedic, and a social and emotional well‑being team. Services 24-hour accident and emergency service Maternal and child health services Sexual health counselling and education Visiting dental health care via Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) Hearing and vision screening with visiting specialist services Social and emotional wellbeing services Drug and alcohol misuse programs Community aged care Disabilities services, including NDIS Chronic disease management and care planning Visiting physiotherapy service Outpatient GP service Environmental health program X‑ray, ultrasound, pathology, immunisation Responsibilities Provision of routine GP services including after‑hours availability to support paramedic and on‑call nurse. On‑call availability. Negotiable.
