We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team on a full-time basis and support the ongoing success of our kitchen operations.
The Role
The Chef will be responsible for organising and managing kitchen operations, preparing and cooking food, maintaining food quality standards, and supervising kitchen staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently while delivering consistent, high-quality meals to customers.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Prepare and cook a range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and customer expectations.
• Develop, review and update menus, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients, customer preferences and business requirements.
• Monitor food quality, portion control and presentation standards to ensure consistency.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands.
• Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation and hygiene standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health and workplace safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies and manage inventory to minimise waste and ensure availability of ingredients.
• Inspect supplies, equipment and work areas to ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency.
• Liaise with management regarding menu development, food costs, stock control and operational requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Skills and Qualifications
• AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Demonstrated experience supervising kitchen staff.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Salary: $73,000 - $78,000
