Job Description The Sleep Unit in Epworth Camberwell is seeking a part‑time Business Officer (Bookings) to manage patient appointments and coordinate schedules for services within the unit. This role ensures a smooth and efficient flow of patients through the Sleep Unit, often serving as the primary point of contact for patients and their families before and during their visit. It involves front‑line customer service with high interaction with patients, families, medical, nursing and allied health staff, both in person and over the telephone. The role also includes general clerical duties such as monitoring and managing stationery and ward supply orders and keeping the reception and waiting area clean and tidy. Responsibilities Accurately manage Sleep Unit bookings in IPM. Process Health Fund eligibility requests. Receive and process appointment requests from doctors or other health professionals. Provide information to patients about their appointments, including dates, times and any required preparation. Provide administrative support to the team. Ensure a positive patient experience by delivering excellent customer service to patients and their families. Qualifications Experience using Microsoft Office with strong data entry accuracy. Proven background in administration in a service‑oriented environment. Excellent customer service delivery. Experience using patient information systems (e.g., IPM). Experience with hospital mainframe systems (desirable). Experience with Health Fund checks (desirable). Professional phone manner with experience managing incoming and outgoing calls.
