Collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team environment Strong focus on safety, quality and patient centred care Opportunities to lead service wide change and innovation Exposure to district, state and national maternity initiatives Commitment to staff development, education and research What you'll be doing As a Clinical Midwifery Consultant, you will provide expert leadership in safety culture and practice development, driving improvements in maternity care delivery and clinical outcomes. Lead safety and quality initiatives across maternity services Oversee incident management processes and governance reporting Develop and implement evidence based policies and guidelines Support and expand continuity of care models for women Collaborate on research and practice development programs Essential Criteria Registration: Current Registration as a Registered Midwife with Australian Health practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) Relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years recent experience working in the clinical area of the specified post-graduate qualification Selection Criteria Proven clinical leadership skills in midwifery, and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in midwifery practice Demonstrated high level advanced communication and interpersonal skills across a variety of mediums; proven ability to write for a variety of documents; and apply practice development framework to clinical practice Demonstrated ability to implement changes and develop direction in clinical practice by the initiation, utilisation and review of evidence based research Demonstrated leadership in strategic and clinical service planning and expertise in the management of patient safety / risk and culture change Demonstrated knowledge and experience managing data, analysis and benchmarking, and the collation of reports Proven clinical expertise in complex client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently Equal Employment Opportunity People with disabilities who meet the selection criteria are encouraged to apply; and where required, WSLHD will implement reasonable adjustments consistent with industry standard.
