As a Data Strategist, you will play a key role in shaping data strategies, defining architectures and guiding organisations to build trusted, business-aligned data capabilities. This is a Principal consultant role, typically suited to candidates with 8+ years in data consulting or a related advisory function. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of business and technology, helping clients simplify complexity, strengthen governance and create the foundations for AI and advanced analytics. You will engage directly with executives and senior stakeholders, lead consulting engagements and contribute to the growth of Elysium’s data capability. What Will You Do? As a Data Strategist at Elysium Digital, your responsibilities will include: Data Strategy Development – Lead the design and delivery of data strategies that align with client business goals covering governance, architecture, data literacy, analytics maturity and AI strategy including responsible AI considerations. Current & Future State Assessment – Conduct discovery and maturity assessments, benchmarking clients against best practice within and across sectors. Capability & Roadmap Design – Define required people, process and technology capabilities and shape pragmatic roadmaps to deliver uplift over time. Analytics & AI Strategy – Shape analytics and AI strategies that define how clients will move from data foundations to insight and intelligence – including use case identification and prioritisation, analytics maturity uplift, and practical AI adoption roadmaps grounded in business value. Stakeholder Engagement – Build strong relationships with senior executives and partners ensuring alignment between business priorities and data initiatives. Facilitation of Workshops – Run engaging workshops with leadership and staff to co-design visions, principles and data-driven opportunities. Architecture & Platform Advisory – Provide authoritative guidance on enterprise data architecture patterns (including lakehouse, medallion and integration architectures), evaluate platform options and produce architecture decision artefacts that translate strategy into actionable design. Data Governance Design – Design and implement data governance operating models including data council structures, stewardship and ownership frameworks, policies, standards and metadata management practices aligned to DAMA DMBoK and client organisational context. Methodology Development – Contribute to Elysium’s consulting frameworks for data strategy ensuring we stay at the forefront of best practice. Business Development – Support growth by contributing to proposals, case studies and identifying new opportunities for data strategy and architecture services. What Makes You a Good Fit? We are looking for someone who: Has extensive experience designing and delivering data strategies, governance frameworks and enterprise data architectures in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments – government sector experience highly regarded Understands data management frameworks (e.g. DAMA DMBoK), enterprise architecture principles and responsible AI frameworks, and can apply them pragmatically to client context Has experience shaping analytics and AI strategy – including use case identification, build‑versus‑buy evaluation and translating AI capability into measurable business outcomes Can develop or evaluate business cases for data and analytics investments, articulating value in terms meaningful to executive sponsors Has a track record of leading discovery, strategy and roadmap engagements Has functional or technical knowledge and experience with leading data management and analytics platforms, e.g. Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, Tableau Is skilled in stakeholder engagement, facilitation and communication particularly at executive and partner level Can translate complex technical and data concepts into clear, strategic recommendations for non‑technical audiences Is adaptable, creative and pragmatic, able to design actionable solutions in complex environments Holds or is eligible for an AGSVA security clearance Why Elysium Digital?
