In this role you will provideexceptional legal advice to clients, conduct defence as requiredand appear in court. You will maximise the skill developmentof junior lawyers by supervising and coaching and supporting thepartners in building the practice by seeking out and acting on newclient opportunities. Whatdoes the role involve? We can offeryou the opportunity to work autonomously on your own matters withminimal supervision. On a day-to-day basis, you will have thechance to: Runcommercial litigation primarily in the Supreme and FederalCourt, and also in the Court of Appeal Adviseand conduct defence and appearance work Advisecorporate policy holders seeking to maximise recovery ondisputed insurance claims Participate in businessdevelopment and client relationship activities by participatingin business development meetings where required, engaging inpitch and tenders, assist with the development of marketingmaterials as required Developthe capacity of colleagues to deliver high quality legal advicethrough on-the-job training and supervision, team meetings andmatter de-brief Contribute to the firm'slearning and development program in area ofspecialty Contribute to knowledgeand learning resources, including precedents Managefinances including assisting with estimates and preparation ofinvoices; collection of fees as directed. You must havea commercial litigation background, ideally with some experience ininsurance litigation and/or insurance coverage. Thisrole may appeal to someone who has dealt with professionalindemnity. The idealcandidate will have 7 or more years post qualification experiencein commercial litigation.
