We specialise in fresh wraps, grilled meats, and Middle Eastern–inspired cuisine, serving high-quality meals in a fast-paced environment. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our team on a full-time basis and support the ongoing success of our kitchen operations.
Position Overview
The Chef will be responsible for organising and managing kitchen operations, preparing and cooking food, maintaining food quality standards, and supervising kitchen staff. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the kitchen operates efficiently while delivering consistent, high-quality meals to customers.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and organise the preparation and cooking of food in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Prepare and cook a range of dishes in accordance with established recipes and customer expectations.
• Develop and assist in planning menus, taking into account seasonal availability of ingredients, customer preferences, and cost considerations.
• Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation standards to ensure consistency.
• Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including cooks and kitchen hands.
• Provide training and guidance to kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food preparation, and hygiene standards.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, health, and workplace safety regulations.
• Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and manage inventory to minimise waste and ensure availability of ingredients.
• Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure cleanliness and operational efficiency.
• Work collaboratively with management to maintain efficient kitchen operations and high service standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe kitchen environment at all times.
Skills and Experience
• AQF Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree in Commercial Cookery, or equivalent qualification.
• At least 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef.
• Demonstrated experience in supervising kitchen staff in a commercial kitchen environment.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen operations, and food safety standards.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
