Beacon Legal have partnered with a leading global logistics business in their search for a new Legal Counsel. They are looking to hire someone at the 3-5 PQE level, to be based in their Sydney office. This is one of the best first in-house roles available on the market. We’re seeking a proactive and motivated commercial lawyer to support a dynamic and growing legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work across a broad range of commercial, regulatory and disputes matters and broader operations across Australia and the APAC region. About the Role Negotiate, draft and review a wide range of commercial contracts. Provide legal support and advice in relation to business and asset acquisitions. Manage and liaise with external legal counsel engaged for specialist advice. Advise on and assist with the management of litigation and claims, including instructing and managing external counsel where required. Advise on relevant government and regulatory laws, including competition and consumer law. Support the business on tenders/RFPs and broader commercial projects. What type of person will be successful? Admitted as a lawyer in Australia. 3-5 years’ PQE as a corporate or commercial lawyer from a leading law firm. Strong experience negotiating, drafting and advising on a broad range of commercial contracts. Solutions-orientated with strong plain-language drafting skills and high attention to detail. Excellent time management, analytical and stakeholder management skills. Clear communicator who can explain legal issues in concise, plain language.
