Job Purpose The primary purpose of the Fire Supervisor is to facilitate the successful delivery of compliance-driven project outcomes within the Brisbane Busway infrastructure. As Fire Supervisor, you will lead the management of specialist contractors, maintain project schedules, oversee compliance documentation, and coordinate the activities of electrical fire technicians to ensure all works meet required standards and timelines. In addition to supporting day‑to‑day operations, you will contribute to the business by assisting with tendering for upcoming upgrade projects, providing accurate pricing for minor works, and managing these projects through to commissioning and successful handover. Collaborating closely with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders, you will ensure that all deliverables align with UGL’s project framework and operational standards, while consistently prioritising safety, quality, and compliance. You will play a key role in fostering transparent communication, clear reporting, and ensuring the timely delivery of project milestones, while embodying UGL and CIMIC’s commitment to integrity, collaboration, and care. Key Responsibilities Work collaboratively within a supportive and dynamic maintenance team to deliver 24 / 7 maintenance services for Brisbane’s high‑profile transport infrastructure, the Brisbane Busway, ensuring the smooth operation of fire wet systems, fire dry systems, and electrical fire systems. Apply a strong foundation in maintenance management, including preventative maintenance, conducting corrective actions, leading project planning and execution, coordinating schedules and timelines, and allocating resources efficiently. Take the lead on monthly safety compliance audits across all Busway projects, ensuring teams adhere to safety, quality, and supplier standards and proactively track and report KPIs. Contribute actively to UGL’s HSSE initiatives, promoting safety‑first practices and participating in improvement plans. Support, motivate, and guide project teams, clearly defining roles and responsibilities and encouraging teamwork and mentoring where necessary. Ensure all project planning and management documentation is prepared, maintained, and aligned with UGL’s project management framework and national best practices, meeting contractual requirements. Analyze and negotiate vendor quotes and recommendations to exceed client and UGL expectations. Build strong, trusting relationships with internal teams, external partners, and clients through open communication, collaboration, and prompt challenge resolution. Assist UGL’s Infrastructure and Assets bid teams with tender bids and support when needed. Oversee the project budget and financials by monitoring baselines, identifying deviations, and forecasting revenue, cost, and cash flows to meet financial goals. Seek opportunities to increase revenue through managing project variations and improvements, offering innovative cost‑saving solutions in compliance with UGL governance processes. Maintain active and regular communication with key clients, ensuring collaboration and trust remain at the core of the project relationship with transparent reporting. Qualifications Sound understanding of appropriate project management tools and methodology. Experience in MS Project or equivalent scheduling software. Demonstrated experience with project control techniques, earned value management, risk and opportunity management, and project financial forecasting. Experience as a Fire Supervisor.
