About the Role The position is responsible for: Providing leadership, direction and line management to all staff of the Child Protection Strategy Unit. Providing high level child protection and child sexual assault leadership, direction, advice and coordination within the LHD. Contributing to facilitating and coordinating District wide planning, development, implementation and evaluation of child protection, child sexual assault and problematic and harmful sexual behaviour programs, services, systems, policies and procedures. Building partnerships within the LHD and with other government and non-government services esp. Department of Communities and Justice (DCJ) to meet legislative and policy requirements for interagency collaboration in child protection and child sexual assault. Operational oversight of clinical services. Escalation point for high risk child protection matters. Provides strategic advice and support to clinical services. Champions quality improvement and research, supports the district to embed child safety principles and standards. Will be required to implement child protection related aspects of the NSW Health IPARVAN framework. Relevant tertiary qualifications with eligibility for membership of relevant professional body. Proven experience, knowledge and skills in child protection and child sexual assault; and demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislative and NSW Health policies in regard to child protection and child sexual assault. Experience in providing advice in a senior capacity; demonstrated analytical, critical appraisal and problem solving skills. Proven experience in coordination, planning, implementation and evaluation at strategic, program and service levels. Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) and a willingness to travel to alternate sites across the district as required. Flexibility to support on call roster.
