Salary ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 + super & leave loading. Temporary full‑time role for two years, based at the Sydney International Shooting Centre. About the role As a Venue Manager with the Office of Sport, you will lead the operations of one of NSW’s Olympic Sport Venues — the Sydney International Equestrian Centre, Sydney International Shooting Centre, or the Sydney International Regatta Centre / Penrith Whitewater Stadium precinct. You will be responsible for ensuring the venue is safe, well‑maintained, customer‑focused and commercially sustainable. Working closely with internal teams and key sporting partners, you will drive business development, maximise venue utilisation, and deliver high‑quality events and activities aligned with strategic business plans. This is a leadership role that combines operational oversight, stakeholder engagement, team development and strategic planning to support the long‑term success and legacy of these iconic venues. Responsibilities Develop and implement operational business plans to achieve venue priorities and strategic objectives. Lead day‑to‑day venue operations to ensure events, activities and services are delivered to a high standard. Provide strong people leadership, coaching and performance development to venue staff. Manage venue operations within a risk management and compliance framework, ensuring adherence to NSW Government and Office of Sport policies. Build and maintain partnerships with sporting associations, government authorities, service providers and other key stakeholders to maximise venue usage and revenue. Prepare and manage budgets, resources and financial performance to support sustainable venue operations. Manage venue infrastructure and facilities to ensure assets are safe, fit‑for‑purpose and fully utilised, working closely with Infrastructure and Asset Management teams. Tertiary qualification in a business or venue management discipline or demonstrated equivalent experience. Ability to work weekends, evenings and on call as required. Current Class C Driver’s Licence. Hearing test (audiometric test) within 3 months of starting employment (baseline test) and a follow‑up Hearing test at least every 2 years. Qualifications To be eligible to apply for this position, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a valid Australian working Visa for the duration of the appointment. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory National Police Check and Pre‑Employment Health Assessment. You will also need to arrange a Working with Children Check, at your own expense.
