This role leads compliance and enforcement across consumer and automotive sectors. About the role Are you passionate about protecting consumers and driving regulatory impact? NSW Fair Trading is looking for a dynamic and strategic individual to lead compliance and enforcement efforts across the consumer and automotive sectors. Key Responsibilities Lead multi-disciplinary teams focused on inspections, investigations, and project delivery within a newly established directorate. Make risk-based decisions and determine high-priority matters to pursue. Oversee delivery of key consumer safety projects, including initiatives such as the Lithium-ion Battery Safety Project. Collaborate with legal, policy, and executive stakeholders to shape enforcement strategy. Engage with industry, regulators, and government to influence outcomes and drive reform. Qualifications Strong experience in prosecution and enforcement with a risk-based approach. Expertise in regulatory compliance and consumer safety frameworks. Proven ability to lead large, multi-disciplinary teams across inspections, investigations, and project delivery. Deep understanding of NSW consumer law and its interaction with Australian Consumer Law. Strategic thinking, stakeholder engagement, and a commitment to public value. Compensation & Details Total remuneration package starting from $226,630. Based in Sydney CBD (McKell Building) or Parramatta with hybrid working arrangements available; travel to both locations required. Seniority level: Executive. Employment type: Full-time.
